If any company that you didn't know asked you to do this, you would throw the software in the trash. Alternatively, from the Resource Manager, select Hatches from the list of resource types on the tool bar, and click New Hatch. To those that say you should uninstall your anti-virus or other security measures to install a piece of software, this should be a red flag. From the Resource Manager, click New Resource, select Hatch, and then click Create. Verify that you have write access to the application libraries folder and try again. Software companies like to play this game that it must be your machine. Vectorworks was unable to download the online resources from the (XXXXX.vwx). If Autodesk has made functional changes to their installer and it is "getting blocked" then it IS the installer and not the machine/OS. Before you go down a road of patronizing condescension, I am an admin on the machine, have checked security roles, cleared temp folder, rebooted, tried your two versions of the installer, etc. Over a few months now, I have tried everything. I find it curious that an "expert" doesn't see that the problem is with Autodesk's new installer.
